Save Your Laptop

You love your laptop, but do you tend to it well enough?? Here's how to keep it shipshape and long lasting

  • Place laptops away from liquids and moisture. For most of the laptops, a single spill can be disastrous. Do not expose it to direct sunlight.
  • Use external mouse whenever possible. Touchpads generally worn out fast.
  • Often, when you close your laptop, the keys touch the screen slightly, leaving permanent marks on the screen over time. Avoid that by placing a piece of cloth over keyboard before closing.
  • Use a laptop cooler, if your room is not air conditioned. The cooler is a stand sometimes with fans to prevent the laptop from overheating.
  • It is essential to have a good laptop bag to prevent your laptop from rough handling and bad weather. The bag must be rough and tough and not a fancy one.
  • Unlike desktops, which can run for weeks without being shutdown, its best to shutdown your laptop or keep it in sleep mode when not in use.
  • Wipe the screen occasionally using a soft cloth. Use a cotton bud to clean dust which may have gathered between the keys.
  • Reduce battery discharge by adjusting settings for optimal power and screen brightness. Also it helps to use only one or two windows at a time unplug USB devices that are not needed, switch off bluetooth and keep speaker volume down.
Have fun with your lappy !!
